Refugees and new immigrants
The General Act on Equal Treatment (AGG) applies to all persons, regardless of their residence status.
That is why the AGG also guarantees refugees and new immigrants protection against discrimination in their working lives and in everyday transactions and services.
Finding an apartment, looking for a job or going to a club: All of this is central to ensuring social participation, especially for people who are new residents in Germany. Nevertheless, refugees and new immigrants often experience discrimination in these areas of life in particular.
For new immigrants and refugees, we have compiled useful information covering the various aspects of life in the brochure "Protection against Discrimination in Germany" in several languages.
